Corian is the original solid surface and has been around for over 50 years. It's composition has hardly changed since the material was first developed, consisting of around 1/3rd acrylic and 2/3rds mineral filler.
The surface of Corian is impermeable to water, being completely non-porous. This means it is naturally resistant to bacteria, mould and mildew which would otherwise become lodged within microcavities in a less refined surface.
Above most other solid surfaces today, Corian is susceptible to thermoforming, meaning it can be shaped and moulded into limitless forms.
While Corian is an extremely versatile material, its high price point can mean it is an unrealistic option for many homeowners. If you are looking for a more accessible surface, we also supply a suitable alternative in the form of Apollo Magna.
Corian does not lose its visual appearance or fade for many years, in most cases decades.
Stains and marks can be easily be removed with a Scotchbrite pad and general household cleaner.
